In addition to helping your pets stay in good health, we offer them a place to stay while you're away. For specific information about appointments or prices, contact Gentle Care Animal Hospital, PC today.

PREVENTATIVE CARE

To make sure your pets stay healthy, we recommend you have them examined every year. Cats and dogs both need to stay current on Rabies, Distemper and fecal exams. Cats may also need to be tested for feline diseases and may need Leukemia vaccines. Dogs need Heartworm tests, and Bordetella or Lyme vaccines may be recommended. All new pets, regardless of age, should have an initial wellness exam as soon as possible. Recommended vaccines and tests can be discussed at the initial visit, and schedules for follow-ups, booster vaccines, and other procedures can be planned accordingly.

SURGERY

Your pet receives compassionate treatments from Gentle Care Animal Hospital PC when surgery is needed. We request that you have your pets to us between 7:30 and 8:30 a.m. so that we can do pre-anesthetic testing and pre-operative preparation (such as IV catheter placement), as needed. Surgeries are performed midday, and many pets spend at least one night in the hospital for optimal rest and observation.

BOARDING

We provide your pet with a home away from home in our boarding facility. We have several wards for smaller dogs, and the cats have a ward of their own to help them relax (away from noises that might disturb them). Large dogs need more room to stretch out, so we have two rooms with indoor runs, climate controlled like the rest of the hospital. Dogs receive their exercise when they are leash walked 4 to 5 times each day, inside a fenced back yard for their protection. All pets are fed twice daily unless owners instruct otherwise. There is generally no need to bring beds or bowls – all pets are provided comfortable blankets and bedding to sleep on, and our bowls are specially sized to fit the spaces where your pets will stay.

GROOMING

Please call to schedule grooming appointments in advance, as groomers get booked quickly, especially for the holidays and summer. Our groomers want your pet to be comfortable as well as pretty. Please count on leaving your pet with us for several hours so that the makeover is not rushed. Grooming time and cost vary by coat, behavior, and condition of pet, so our groomers can give you an estimated pick up time when you drop off, or many people elect to be called when their pet is ready. Grooming options are also available for boarders. When boarding please try to book your bath when you book your boarding reservation to ensure the groomers have time to accommodate your pet.
For your convenience, we offer downloadable forms for new patients, boarding, rabies vaccinations, disclosure, and surgical admission.
